where is our conscience ?

A few days ago I read about the fate of this tiger in the newspaper. In the report it mentioned
that the tiger had been hit with 5 bullets, spears that had been laced with poison sap from Ipoh tree. The tiger's flesh was also badly torn from it being caught in the wire snare that was set up by the orang asli.

After further reading, I found out that the Orang Asli are killing these tigers. And from this one example as we can see so clearly, they would do almost anything and everything in order to kill these tigers. As if setting the wire snare is not enough, in the report it said that after the wire snare is all set up, they then shoot the tiger and wait for it to die. I was so disturbed at the thought of it. How can a human being be so inhumane? Cause an innocent animal so much pain and then just sit on the side and watch it die. Why? I must have asked myself that question so many times and my curiosity made me read up more on this matter.

Apparently, they are being paid to kill all of these tigers. It is said that many middleman have arrangements with the orang asli. These middleman, actually go all the way out to the Orang Asli and exploit them. The ignorant Orang Asli are being used by these people to kill the tigers in order to get parts from it.

In my opinion, Malaysia is not firm enough in enforcing our laws against killing of wildlife and endangered animals. It doesn't matter if the Orang Asli killed these tigers because they were used by people. They did it because there was something in it for them. Everyone involved in this should be charged. I think by being too lenient, we are all indirectly, condoning these acts of cruelty. Everyone involved, including those who arranged and asked for this tiger should be prosecuted. Because if there isn't demand for it, there wouldn't be people willing to go to all these length.

Let this tiger's cruel death not be in vain.
